Upland Paths in Scotland’s National Parks

Ben LediA significant aspect of The Mountains and The People project is the delivery of over 125km of path repair and upgrade works across both of our National Parks.  Work will be focused in the south and west Cairngorms as well as throughout much of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park area.  The list below outlines our preferred sites which were identified through detailed consultation with landowners and users.  Due to the complexities of upland path construction this list may change over time.

Through improving upland paths across some of our countries most iconic mountains the project will conserve the vulnerable habitats being destroyed through the path erosion and braiding caused by a combination of recreational use and weather.
