October 16 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
On our mountain maintenance volunteer tasks you will undertake what is known as a “drainage run”. This means walking the route of the path, with a member of The Mountains & The People team and other volunteers, clearing the drainage features as you go. Think of it as a nice walk on an iconic mountain in the National Park, with a spade. This work is vitally important to ensure the newly built paths are kept in a good condition.
The exact path for this task will be confirmed closer to the time, but it will one of the newly built mountain paths in the Deeside area of the Cairngorms National Park. Mountain maintenance days are physically active days in the Scottish mountains, be prepared for a long, steep walk, manual labour and lots of fresh air.
