20 Apr The Mountains & The People

This week the first of this year’s trainees started work on The Mountains and The People project, learning practical conservation skills which they will use to help conserve some of our nation’s most fragile upland habitats.  As anticipated interest in thee paid s month training opportunities was very high with the eight trainees were selected from over 120 applications, 50 of which were invited to a practical assessment day before the successful team was identified.  The trainees first week has been filled with core skills in health and safety, first aid and risk assessment before being introduced to the mountains which will become their home for the next six months.
