Next Step Volunteer led walks

April 23 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Craigendarroch and Pass of Ballater, Deeside. 10.30 – 2.30pm approx

Aberdeen Ramblers would be delighted to welcome new walkers to join them on a lovely walk with great views from Ballater.

The walk will start in Ballater car park and walk up through the wooded slopes of Craigendarroch.  This isn’t a flat walk, there is a gentle steady incline up through the trees to gain height, however you are rewarded with wonderful view of upper Deeside area and beyond to the mountains of the Cairngorms.  We’ll have a picnic lunch at the top and return by different paths, finishing along the disused railway that makes up part of the Deeside Way.

The paths are well established but we suggest wearing walking boots to give ankle support as there are tree roots and uneven surfaces.  Waterproofs are also advisable and a packed lunch essential.

Distance: 5 miles approx. 402m ascent
