February 7 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
We will be working alongside a professional to help rebuild some sections of dry stone wall within the RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond Reserve. The day will run from 10am-4pm. We will be working close to the car park area, so limited walking needed. The activity will be moderate level as there will be manual handling involved.
You will need to bring appropriate clothing including lots of layers, hat, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. Steel toe capped boots are required for stone work. We have a supply of work gloves for volunteers and steel toe capped wellington boots which volunteers can borrow. If you would like to borrow boots then please let me know what size you require in advance. You will also need lunch, snacks and a drink. Toilet facilities are available at the RSPB reserve.
Transport is available from our office in Balloch leaving at 9.45am. Please note if making your own way there, the reserve postcode doesn’t work for sat nav. Please visit the RSPB website for directions here.
We will be running two days of dry stone walling activities, volunteers are welcome to attend one or both.
