6th September 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The volunteer day will run from 10am-4pm where we will be working at Faery Knoll, near Loch Chon. The activity will be moderate level. We will be doing some ditching on a section of path that is severely affected by water. We will also be doing some vegetation management work to remove young Sitka spruce trees and keep encroaching vegetation away from the path.
Transport will be available from Balloch and Aberfoyle. Due to there being limited parking at the work site, we need to limit the number of vehicles, so if making your own way, please meet the minibus at Aberfoyle Riverside Car Park.
You will need to bring appropriate clothing including waterproofs and sturdy toe protecting footwear. Wellington boots are recommended for the ditching work. You might also want to bring a midge net, insect repellent, sun cream / hat and walking poles if you usually use them. You will also need lunch, snacks and a drink. We have a supply of work gloves for volunteers and steel toe capped wellington boots which volunteers can borrow. Toilet facilities are available in Aberfoyle, please be aware that there are no toilet facilities within walking distance of where we are working.
