October 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The volunteer day will run from 10am-4pm where we will be working along a low level section of the Lairig Ghru, near Aviemore. The activity will be moderate level. There will be a bit of a walk in required along the path to get to our work site. We will be working along a section of path undertaking some general maintenance tasks, including some ditching work, clearing drains and dealing with water on the path.
Due to there being limited parking at the work site, we wont be able to have lots of vehicles parked, pick up and drop off will be provided from Aviemore town centre.
You will need to bring appropriate clothing including waterproofs and sturdy toe protecting footwear. You might also want to bring extra layers, hat and walking poles if you usually use them. You will also need lunch, snacks and a drink. We have a supply of work gloves for volunteers and steel toe capped wellington boots which volunteers can borrow. Toilet facilities are available in Aviemore, please be aware that there are no toilet facilities within walking distance of where we are working.
