Give volunteering a go! Volunteer in the woodlands of Mar Lodge
As part of the Cairngorms Nature BIG Weekend, we have teamed up with Volunteer Cairngorms and the National Trust for Scotland to offer some great volunteering opportunities at Mar Lodge. The day is an informal and friendly taster sessions, to give people a chance to have a go at volunteering. Although it would be great to see people who have volunteered before as well.
What will I be doing?
Give path maintenance a go and help take care of the riverside track at the Salmon Ladder on the spectacular Lui Water, or help look after the amazing woodlands alongside the River Dee, ring barking trees to help maintain biodiversity.
Where do we meet?
We will meet at the information point in Linn of Dee Car Park; please do make use of the free shuttle bus running throughout the day from the Braemar Games Field if possible. We will then take a short walk (10-15 minutes) into the woods.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear clothes that will keep you warm and dry, and sturdy shoes, which you don’t mind getting muddy! We’ll have plenty of biscuits with us, but please also bring refreshments to keep you going!
How do I sign up?
You can join us for either the morning, the afternoon, or both sessions! To help us plan, we’d really appreciate it if you could please sign up via Eventbrite which can be found on the BIG Weekend website. There is a choice of four different sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
